Band Director
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Bands position at Booker ISD is for grades 5-12. This encompasses pre-band, beginning band, junior high band, and high school band. High school band attends marching competition in the fall and concert/sight reading competition in the spring. The Director of Bands works directly with the superintendent and principal of the school to ensure success of the program. Booker ISD is a 1A school in a small, supportive community. Salary is negotiable based on experience and success.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Valid Texas teaching certificate
Demonstrated competency in instrumental music
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of overall operation of instrumental music program
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Knowledge of University Interscholastic League (UIL) rules
Ability to develop budgets and manage funds
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Ability to interpret data
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Student teaching or approved internship experience
