Required Parent Meeting: ESTEEM Sex Education Presentation

When? Monday, Feb 24, 2025, 07:00 PM

Where? Booker High School, South Main Street, Booker, TX, USA

Dear Parents,

As a district, it is always our hope and intention to provide the best guidance to our students academically, socially, mentally, emotionally, and physically. One of the areas that unfortunately is not addressed with preteens and teenagers in the home or school is human sexuality. We invite you Monday, February 24, 2025, to attend a presentation of the recommended sex education curriculum for 6th through 12th grades at the high school auditorium, at 7:00 pm.

We want to partner with you to educate our students to make wise decisions concerning their future. We will always honor your decision concerning this topic and follow your direction if you do not want your child to participate in this instruction, an opt-out form must be completed. A sample of these forms may be found HERE. Otherwise, your child will be participating in the instruction of the ESTEEM curriculum. Printed forms will be readily available in the office.

Illness Outbreak

Currently, we have sent several students home due to illness.

If your child has any of the following symptoms, please do not send them to school until they are symptom-free for at least 24 hours, without the use of medication:

  • Fever of 100.0 or higher

  • Vomiting

  • Diarrhea

Please instruct your students to wash their hands with soap and water, and to cover their mouths and noses when they cough or sneeze.

We appreciate your courtesy and willingness to follow these guidelines.
